Portraits: Documenting Special Seasons
Even though I do spend most of my time shooting weddings, I still love going out during weekdays and taking portraits of families, both established and growing!
Portrait photos are always so special to me. Normally, there's an occasion being celebrated - whether it's a family of 5 or a family getting ready to add a new little member (could be a child or a pet; you wouldn't believe how many puppy photos I've had the honor of taking).
I want your experience to be incredible.
THE PROCESS
The biggest way to know that it will be is for you to know exactly what to expect from me before, during, and after your session. Scroll through these slides to learn about my portrait experience process and everything you have to look forward to in working alongside me!
I want to get to know you as much as I can and how I can best serve you. What's your family's story? How has your pregnancy been? Tell me everything! I'd love to hop on a phone call with you once you reach out so that I can give you a good idea of everything you can expect working with me, what my process is like, and what I have to offer you every step of the way.
Because I want you to love your photos, and I know how much they mean to both of us, I want to help the shoot go as smoothly as possible. Once you've booked with me, I'll send you a style guide that will help you get an idea of what's great to wear, amazing location options, and so much more. We'll also go over products you could envision in your home, and/or albums you'd enjoy sharing with generations to come.
You've booked me for your shoot, you've read over the style guide, and now it's finally time for your photos! We now have the opportunity to really get to know each other and spend some time together.
I promise getting your photos taken isn't as scary or intimidating as it sounds. If you're nervous, don't worry. That's normal. I can promise you, though, no matter what type of session we're shooting, it's going to be so fun!
As soon as I get home from your shoot, I'll go through all of your photos and edit the ones I know you'll love the most. We'll schedule a time to sit down where you can see your photos for the first time, select the ones you'd like to purchase, and design your products - from wall art to heirloom albums! The photos you've chosen to print will go in a digital online gallery where you'll have access to the high-resolution images.

DO WE PICK OUR SESSION LOCATION, OR DO YOU?
Either way! If there's a location that means something special to your family, I'm happy to visit. If you don't mind where your photos are taken, I have a few tried and true spots that always make for beautiful photos. Suggestions for types of locations will be included in the digital guide I send to you before your session!

DO YOU TRAVEL FOR SESSIONS?
Absolutely! I love visiting new places, especially to photograph families. With your package, I offer 40 miles of travel. Because I have 2 littles at home that I don't want to be away from for too long, if your desired session location is farther than that, I'm more than happy to travel outside of that 40 mile range for an additional fee.

DOES THE SESSION FEE INCLUDE ALL OF THE PHOTOS?
The session fee covers the meeting(s) beforehand, the photography session itself, and the edited image options I'll share with you during our final meeting together after your session. Images themselves are purchased separately during the final meeting. We will also select your products during this time!

No worries! I'll have whatever products you order shipped directly to your house!

The Investment
Because every family's needs are different, I offer a variety of options for portrait sessions. These options depend on whether you have a preference between studio or outdoor portraits, and how many printed photos you'd like to receive from your session.
