As a wedding photographer, I’m lucky enough to witness the unique love stories of so many couples, but Sarah and Scott’s wedding at Cedarmont Farm in Franklin, TN, was something truly special. From the intimate first look to the sparkler exit that lit up the evening, every moment was filled with joy, emotion, and beautiful details.
The day started with the couple’s highly anticipated first look—a quiet, private moment between Sarah and Scott before the hustle and bustle of the ceremony. As Sarah tapped Scott on the shoulder and he turned to face her, you could see the emotion in both their eyes. There were tears, laughter, and so much love. They embraced in a moment of pure vulnerability, as though the world had stopped for just a few seconds. It’s always such an honor to capture a moment like that.
The weather had a bit of a dramatic flair for the day. It was cloudy, and there was a subtle hint of rain in the air. But, just as the ceremony was about to begin, the sun peeked through the clouds, casting a warm glow on everything around us. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
Speaking of perfection, Sarah’s wedding dress was simply stunning. An elegant gown with a dramatic, oversized bow on the back that made a statement from every angle. She paired it with the most gorgeous Bella Belle shoes—pearls delicately adorning the toes. The little details, like her shoes and the soft touches of pearl accents throughout her accessories, made her look like a vision of timeless beauty.
The bridesmaids, dressed in rich velvet green gowns, added such a lovely touch to the fall aesthetic. With the farm’s leaves beginning to turn vibrant shades of orange and red, the velvet fabric complemented the colors of the season beautifully. The backdrop of Cedarmont Farm—full of rustic charm and natural beauty—was the perfect setting for their ceremony.
The ceremony itself was brief but full of meaning. There was something so heartfelt about the simplicity of it—no frills, just two people making promises to each other in front of the people who matter most. I could see how much Sarah and Scott valued this moment, and it was clear that their connection ran deep.
After the ceremony, we had some time for portraits, and it was wonderful to capture the couple among the breathtaking scenery of the farm. The cocktail hour gave everyone a chance to unwind and mingle, and soon enough, it was time to celebrate!
The reception was a blast, starting with Sarah and Scott’s first dance as husband and wife. Their smiles were contagious as they twirled and swayed together, surrounded by family and friends. Toasts from loved ones brought laughter, tears, and heartfelt moments. And then, of course, there was the famous Pittsburgh cookie table—a nod to Scott’s roots. If you’re not familiar, the cookie table is a long-standing Pittsburgh wedding tradition where families and friends contribute homemade cookies to share with guests. It’s such a sweet (literally) tradition and added a personal touch to their celebration.
As the night went on, the dance floor filled with energy. Guests of all ages were laughing, dancing, and enjoying every second of the celebration. It’s always so much fun to watch a couple let loose and truly enjoy the party they’ve worked so hard to create.
The night ended with a stunning sparkler exit, and the couple made their way through a tunnel of light, hand in hand, as everyone cheered them on. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
Sarah and Scott, thank you for allowing me to be part of your special day. I’m so grateful to have been able to capture the moments, big and small, that made your wedding unforgettable. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness!
